What is your DJ style?
My style is focused entirely on seamless mixing, great music selection, and keeping the energy high. I avoid cringey mic chatter and cheesy announcements, letting the music build the atmosphere and keep your dance floor full all night.
How much experience do you have?
With over twenty years of experience behind the decks across Devon, Cornwall, and the South West, know how to read a crowd, adapt on the fly, and manage the timing of a wedding reception smoothly from start to finish.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COSTS TO BOOK OR HIRE A WEDDING DJ?
Wedding DJ’s for hire in the UK will typically charge between £300 – £1500.
How Much Does a Wedding DJ Costs will depend on a number of factors. Research data has shown that the average cost for a professional wedding DJ in the UK is £500.
Can you set up early DJ Boombastic?
Oh yes... If possible, I can set up the equipment before your wedding guests arrive. This takes away the worry and stress of possible noise and interruption and gives you the reassurance that I am here, all is prepared, ready to go for the evening.
WHAT TIME DO YOU ARRIVE AND HOW LONG DOES IT TAKES TO SETUP?
I typically arrive 2-3 hours before our agreed start time. Setting up our sound system and lighting equipment takes approximately one hour as a guide, ensuring everything is fully sound checked and ready before your evening reception begins.
Do you play for same sex and LGBTQ+ weddings?
Yes, absolutely. I proudly celebrate love in all its forms and perform at weddings for all couples across the South West. Every wedding we play is completely tailored to your personal tastes, style, and vision for your big day.
WHAT IS THE BOOKING PROCESS?
Once you enquire and I confirm your date is available, we secure your booking with a deposit OF £100 and a signed agreement. From there, we work with you closely to finalise your timeline, special tracks, and music preferences well before the big day.
When is the balance due?
The balance can be paid any time really, but typically one month before your wedding.
Can we meet you prior to our big event DJ Boombastic?
Yes of course although It is not necessary but it is recommended. A pre-wedding consultation is a great opportunity for us both to meet, it gives us the chance to discuss your requirements and ideas that you may have for your big day.
What music do you play? Can I provide a playlist DJ Boombastic
Yes of course, we can play any music that you require. Our database of many thousands of songs means we have the most popular requested tracks, however should we not have your favourite we can source 99% of all music using our online suppliers. And yes we do accommodate requests at your event as well.
Do you accept custom playlists and take requests on the night?
Yes. We encourage you to share your favorite tracks, genres, and a do not play list. On the night itself, we are happy to take requests from your guests, as long as they fit the overall music policy and vibe you have set for your evening.
Do you have insurance and is your kit PAT tested and certified DJ Boombastic?
Yes, we have full Public & Employers Liability Insurance and all our equipment are PAT tested for your piece of mind and safety. A copy of both certificates is available on request. Most venues will ask to see them.
You do lighting; is it included as standard?
Dance floor lighting is included as standard. This is typically about 6 modern effects lights that are on control and will shine on the dance floor area and beyond. These are on DMX control so will be static or move to the music to suit the song being played.
We are scared of getting a cheesy DJ, can you help?
We promise not to play loads of tacky dance move tracks (such as Agadoo, Oops Upside Your Head, Macarena etc!) and can cater for any music genre. Microphone announcements are left to minimum.
Can you work alongside a band or live sax player?
Yes, absolutely. We regularly work alongside live bands, sax players, and percussionists. We can share audio feeds, coordinate light shows, and blend our sets seamlessly into live performances to keep the party moving without any awkward silences.
What happens if you fall ill on the day?
In the unlikely event of an emergency or sudden illness, we have a trusted network of professional wedding DJs in the South West who can step in with your pre-arranged playlist and timeline notes to ensure your party goes off without a hitch.
How long does it take you to set up?
Depending on the DJ and venue, typically between 50-60 minutes depending on the package you have opted for. All day Packages requires early set up.
How much space do you require?
Approximately about 3 metres by 2 metre. We require 2 plug sockets capable of powering up to 2kw of power, with no fluctuations. All performance areas must be 100% weather proof.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel your booking, please notify us in writing as soon as possible. Deposits are non refundable to cover administrative costs and reserved dates. If a cancellation occurs close to the event date, partial or full balance payments may still apply depending on how much notice is given, as outlined clearly in our booking contract.
